MANILA, Philippines — Alex Eala jumpstarted her Women’s Tennis Association 125 Mumbai campaign on a high note after dominating Sara Saito of Japan with a 6-1, 6-0 rout on Monday at Cricket Club in India.
It took 61 minutes for Eala to sweep the Japanese and advance to the round of 16 of her fifth tournament this year.

The 19-year-old Filipino beat Saito for the second time in a row after eking out a 6-1, 6-7 (1-7), 7-5 in the Singapore Open qualifiers last week.
